A project for 2014. A photo a week from my commute from Winchester to Southwark in London.
I wanted to capture the famous station in war and peace image; but there’s too much commercial clutter. This is as close as it’s possible to get.
I love seeing these trees every morning, although they’re due to go to make way for a council-backed ‘gateway’ development (they mean flats).
The florist outside Winchester station looks cheerily festive; even on a dull morning.
One of the topiary hollies outside the Garden Museum in Lambeth looks suitably festive in some late autumn sunlight.
Another shot taken from a (slow) moving train near Micheldever, this time looking towards the South Downs. I was after the sunrise; but I like the line of telegraph poles adding an industrial aspect to the landscape.
The seafarer outside the International Maritime organisation’s HQ wears a woolly hat for Woolly Hat Day (organised by the Missions to Seafarers’, which gives out woolly hats to sailors).
